Now that another successful season is over, all uniforms must be returned to school. Please organise to bring your uniform back to the staff member in charge of your team.
Congratulations to the Intermediate Girls' Football team, whose win in their Canterbury final at Hagley Park today earned another Winter Sports trophy for a Burnside High School sports team. As with the Basketball team featured earlier in the week, this team was unbeaten throughout the season, their winning streak capped off with today's 4-1 victory.
Congratulations to the girls (pictured below) and to their student coaches Hamish Barnett and Ben Geayley and manager Mr Bartlett.
The First XI Girls also played in their final today. Despite clawing their way back from 4-0 down in a dramatic 2nd half, they couldn't quite draw level, losing 4-3 to Villa Maria. However, the team can reflect on a successful season, which saw them placed 6th in the country at last week's Premier National Tournament - Burnside's best ever result.
