Touch is a sport that continues to grow here at Burnside High School. This is open to any student from year levels 9-13. Beginners and experienced players are all welcome and there will be a team to suit your ability.

Competition runs in Terms 1 and 4.  All teams play on a Wednesday afterschool (3:00-3.40) either at Burnside Park, Hagley Park or at other local schools.  Teams may also enter the Canterbury and South Island Secondary Schools championship held in Christchurch each year. From this tournament teams may also have the opportunity to qualify for the National Secondary Schools Tournament in December each year.

Junior trainings normally take place once a week after-school or during lunch times. Senior super touch trainings will be twice a week.with the possibility of the number of trainings increasing closer to tournament time.

Touch subs are around $30 with extra costs for Super Touch teams and any tournaments entered.
Uniform will normally be supplied to seniors, juniors will wear Burnside High School PE gear.
Trials are held early in Term 1 and at the end of Term 3.  Look out for the reminders in the student notices and on moodle.
