Term Two!
by Calista Fung - Friday, 27 April 2012, 7:15 PM

Please post suggestions/recommendations for a Fantasy themed book for Term 2. Bear in mind there needs to be some themes in the book that can carry over to club discussions. Also, would you guys like to continue discussing Hitchhiker's Guide, or would you prefer to move on?

See you on Monday!

Update 16/3

Hey guys, hope you all enjoyed your day off! Just a reminder that we're having our first text discussion this year at the last meeting of the term - that is, the 2nd of March. If you don't have a copy of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, you can obtain a .pdf from our Facebook page.

Speaking of which, if you haven't yet checked out our Facebook group, click here and join! It's the most convenient way to get in touch with the rest of the club.

Since it's nearing the end of the term, we want to decide whether we want to continue with our sci-fi/fantasy/adventure theme in term 2, or change to a different one; sci-fi and fantasy was a pretty popular choice amongst us and we're contemplating going through with it again, but with a totally different text - maybe this time on the fantasy end of the scale.

At our first meeting, you guys suggested social realism, NZ literature, and action for the following terms. Would you prefer to stick with this itinerary instead?

Just some things to think about over the next few weeks. Thanks for being awesome, everyone.

just saying, i have no idea what 'Watchmen by John Altman' is because I was actually suggesting 'The Watchmen' by Alan Moore, illustrated by Dave Gibbons. as i said, this is a graphic novel.

can you guys fix this please?

i really want us to read the watchmen!
