Senior Photography and Design courses use the Adobe CC software
and work with multiple large files. For this you will need a
decent quality laptop. There are many brands and models available
but here are a few suggestions to help you make a good
decision.
- Prices will tend to be over $1500 for a quality laptop
- HP and Lenovo are recognized strong quality brands for
Windows. Apple is the only brand running Mac OSx if students
prefer this system.
- 256GB storage on as SSD drive would be a recommended
minimum.
- 8GB RAM should be enough.
- An Intel Core i5 or i7 processor is important.
- A larger screen size makes it easier to work with multiple
images.
- Students will also need an external hard drive storage
device such as a 1 TB Western Digital or Seagate external hard
drive. This is used to store Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Catalogs
and to back up files.
It is also important to note that the course can still be done
successfully without purchasing a personal laptop.
