YOUNG WOMEN IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS AWARD - APPLICATIONS DUE 8 MARCH

The Young Women in Public Affairs (YWPA) Awards progamme recognises young women for their demonstrated leadership skills and commitment to public service and civic causes and encourages them to continue their participation in public and political life.  

The Zonta Club of Christchurch-Canterbury invites female senior students to consider applications for this award.


ELIGIBILITY

Women of any nationality, who are secondary school students (ages 16-19) living or studying in a Zonta district at the time of application and demonstrate evidence of:

  • Active commitment to volunteerism
  • Experience in local or student government
  • Volunteer leadership achievements
  • Knowledge of Zonta International and its programmes
  • Advocating in Zonta International's mission of advancing the status of women worldwide


APPLICATION PROCESS

All application materials must be received by Zonta Club Canterbury by Wednesday 8 March.  Please forward completed applications (please see application form attached) to Sue Jenkinson, christchurch-canterbury@zonta.org.nz. The annual recipients will be chosen by 1 July.


THE AWARDS

Zonta clubs usually provide awards for club recipients. District/region recipients receive US$1,000. Ten international recipients are selected from the district/region recipients to receive additional awards of US$4,000 each. District/region and international awards are funded by the Zonta International Foundation.
