CONSULTATION ON AMENDING THE BURNSIDE HIGH SCHOOL ENROLMENT SCHEME

Burnside High School is currently undertaking consultation on amending our enrolment scheme. We propose to extend our enrolment zone geographically, by changing our present home zone boundaries.

We are one of seven co-educational state secondary schools proposing new schemes, or proposing amendments to existing schemes. Schools are co-ordinating consultation, so that their immediate and extended communities are well informed; and so that any interested or concerned persons can view what is proposed across Christchurch and submit feedback.

All of the seven schools will host public meetings to gather feedback, including a meeting in the staffroom at Burnside High School on Thursday 28 March 2019, at 7.00 pm. Details of the meetings at other schools are on the link below. As similar material will be covered at all meetings, it is possible for you to attend one of the other meetings, if that date and time suits you better.

How to complete the survey:

  • You can submit the survey at any of the public meetings. Submissions close on Friday 12 April 2019.
  • If you wish to complete the survey and do not have internet access at home, the school’s library has devices available for you to use, as do all Christchurch City Council Libraries. If you wish to use the school’s devices, this can happen each school day, Monday-Friday, between 3.00-4.30 pm. Please report to Reception when you arrive onsite. A reminder that the link is: www.shapingeducation.govt.nz/secondary
  • Paper copies of the survey are also available at Reception, which is open between 8.00 am-4.30 pm, Monday-Friday.

If you have questions about how the scheme could affect you, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions section on the above link. If your question is not covered in these FAQs, please email the Principal’s Secretary: admin@burnside.school.nz and your questions will be forwarded to the Board of Trustees Chairperson.
