On the 22nd and 23rd of April 24 Year 12 and Year 13 Media Studies students flew to Wellington to learn first-hand about some of New Zealand’s media industries, genres and products.
We met Brendan McElroy at Clemenger who talked about working in the NZ advertising industry. We visited the NZ Film Archives and looked at the influence of ads on the kiwi way of life. We designed our own video games at Te Papa’s Game Master Exhibition. Michelle Baker at the Office of Film and Classification explained to us about censorship in NZ. We visited Peter Jackson’s Weta Cave and watched ‘Warm Bodies’ at the embassy theatre on Monday night.
