DATES: 6 – 8 SEPTEMBER, 2013
VENUE: LIVING SPRINGS
THEME: EDUCATE, EMPOWER, ENABLE!
As part of our ongoing efforts to work with young people Red Cross would like to contribute to creating pathways through which young people can participate as leaders in day to day community life and in the recovery and rebuild of our city in ways that are meaningful to them. To this end Red Cross will be holding a Youth Leadership Development Forum under the theme Educate, Empower, Enable! to educate young people on community and humanitarian work; allow for their empowerment through leadership and skills development; and provide resources to enable young people to implement projects they want to in their communities. The Forum will be held from 6 – 8 September 2013 at Living Springs. The Forum will be held for 50 young people in years 11 to 13 at high school who are chosen by their schools to attend the Forum.
What young people can look forward to
The Forum will take the young people through a variety of activities that will contribute to education, empowerment and enabling. There will be no cost on the part of the young person attending the conference. All expenses in relation to attendance at the Forum will be met by the Red Cross.
