Hi All,

Thanks to those that attended the learn to row days throughout the holidays - by now I am sure you all have a pretty good idea of what rowing is about!

The plan now is as follows...

  • Training for the whole squad on the water at Kerr's Reach on Mondays and Thursdays (at this stage) after school.
  • Seniors (U17 and U18s) will also row on Tuesdays at the Reach
  • Morning training before school (6:30am - be 5mins early!) will start at school next week with seniors (U17 and U18) on Tuesday 22nd Oct and juniors (U15, U16 and novices/new rowers) will be on Wednesdays.
  • The next Regatta will be for JUNIORS ONLY (seniors will be studying hard for exams). This is the Aoraki 1km regatta on Nov 2/3 in Twizel. This is 3 weekends away from now. We hope to have a parent meeting before this regatta so that any questions can be asked/answered.

So get EXCITED!!! Time to start getting fit and strong and preparing for the championship regattas!

If you are on facebook, make friends with one of the existing squad members and they can add you to our private group for burnside rowers where we keep in touch with each other.

You need to get your permission forms to either Mrs Hunt or myself by the end of the week so that you can continue to row.

See you at training!

Coach Sophie
