Ali Nightingale 12NCVJ recently returned from the United Kingdom and France in the lead up to the ISAF Youth Worlds in July in Portugal. She attended two regattas.

The first was the Royal Yachting Association Youth Nationals held in Weymouth Dorset.

Conditions in England were windy, cold and physically demanding. There was six days of tough racing against 106 of the top British youth sailors. Ali was placed 2nd girl (14th overall) in both the under 21 and under 18 age group, bringing home 2 medals.

After The Youth Nationals Ali went on to Hyeres in France with her Yachting New Zealand coach and competed in one of the ISAF World cup regattas. This regatta is for Olympic class boats and had over 1000 entries of sailors from around the world. Ali sailed in a big fleet of women sailors including many who had gone to the Olympics in London in 2012.
