Year 11 Geography students have been developing their spatial awareness by studying the links between natural and cultural environments in our local surrounds. In Lyttelton students conducted field observations on the impacts of the Canterbury earthquake and the future of the Lyttelton Port Development. At the top of the Christchurch Gondola we were treated to amazing views! Here students were able to develop a range of skills, including mapping, filed sketching, collecting photographic evidence and developing understanding of the key Geographic concepts. At Corsair Bay students collaborated in groups, building 3D islands to scale.
To Mr Bond’s class……don’t worry you have not been forgotten. We are just awaiting the perfect weather window!!
