Christchurch City Council is currently promoting Neighbourhood Week 2015.  Neighbourhood Week is all about communities where people support each other, keep an eye out for each other and give each other a helping hand.  It's an ideal opportunity to introduce yourself to your neighbours and have a small get-together or local gathering.

As part of its support for Neighbourhood Week, your local Community Board is making small subsidies available towards neighbourhood gatherings.  Subsidies will be available towards reimbursement after the gathering and following the presentation and approval of receipts.   Please note that subsidies are not available for expenditure on alcohol and fireworks.

If you are interested, please visit our website at www.ccc.govt.nz/neighbourhoodweek for details on how to participate and ideas for getting involved (an application form and guidelines is attached).  Please note that applications close on Friday 28 August 2015 at 5pm

If your gathering is to be in a public space, e.g. a local park or reserve, you need to contact Christchurch City Council Bookings on 941 8888 to check availability and provide information about your gathering.  This information may include a Health and Safety Plan or other details.  If you are holding your gathering in a public place within an area that is covered by the alcohol-free bylaw, then you may not have any alcohol present.

For any enquiries, please phone our call centre on 941 8999, or visit the website address above.
