A collaborative drawing created by Burnside High School Art students and teachers: For Auckland Artist Fiona Jack senior lecturer at Elam Art School (University of Auckland).

This drawing which is to be made into a banner will feature in the SCAPE Public Art Biennial here in Christchurch. (4 Oct to 15 Nov).

This drawing is centred around our treasured Tí kõuka's (cabbage trees) known as Te Heranga Ora at the front of our school. They were used as a landmark to guide early Mãori travellers from Rãpaki and Te Waihora (Lake Ellesmere) through swampland to the Ngãi Tahu pã of Kaiapoi.
